Training, coaching and mentoring are all systematic elements that support ongoing employee development.
Mentoring is about demonstrating management and leadership competency. In doing so, you provide an example for the mentee to follow.
Identify an existing employee in your organization and use that employee as the example throughout the following questions.
What resources, skills and support does this employee need in order to improve? Take an inventory.
In what ways might this person reach their potential more rapidly with effective mentoring?
If this person accelerated their personal growth, what are the most important ways the company would benefit?
List what you will do to improve your company's ability to mentor employees in the coming weeks and months.
Develop and implement an initiative to create and implement an effective mentoring strategy that helps your employees achieve peak performance.
